Every candidate must select one of the following subject groups (irrespective of graduation/post-graduation stream):
- Social Science (History, Geography, Political Science, Economics)
- Biological Science (Zoology, Botany, Physiology)

TRBT STGT Recruitment Education Qualification
You are eligible through any ONE of the following routes
1. Graduation/Post-Graduation (50% + B.Ed)
- Minimum 50% marks in either Graduation or Post-Graduation, and
- B.Ed degree from an NCTE-recognized institution.
2. Graduation/Post-Graduation (45% + B.Ed, under NCTE rules)
- Minimum 45% marks in either Graduation or Post-Graduation, and
- B.Ed degree from an NCTE-recognized institution, as per
- NCTE Regulations, 2002
- NCTE Recognition Norms & Procedure, 2007
3. 4-Year Integrated Degree
- B.A.Ed or B.Sc.Ed (4 years) from an NCTE-recognized institution.
- Permanent Resident Certificate of Tripura (PRTC) would be required while applying for the post by direct recruitment as per provision of notification vide no. F. 23 (8)-GA(P&T)/2023 dated 7th July 2023.
Desirable Qualification: Having knowledge of Bengali or Kokborok
NB: Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks will be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category.
TRBT STGT Recruitment Age Limit
- Min. age 18 to 40 years as on 29th August 2025.
- Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/PH and Government Servant provided that government employees belonging to SC/ST/PH category will not get relaxation over and above general relaxation of 5 years available to them.
- Upper age limit is also relaxable for Ex-Serviceman (ESM) as per norms.

TRBT STGT Selection Process
The selection will be based on the marks obtained in the “Graduate Teacher — STGT (Classes IX–X)- 2025”, subject to:
- Written Examination 150 MCQ
- Scrutiny of certificates/documents/mark sheets
- Verification of correctness of information provided by candidates in the online application form
Minimum Marks Requirement:
- Candidates must secure at least 50% marks (75 out of 150) in the test.
- Relaxation: 5% relaxation (68 out of 150) for SC/ST/PH candidates.
Merit & Recommendation:
- Recommendations for recruitment will be based on merit and the number of vacant posts.
- Candidates scoring the minimum qualifying marks (75 or 68, as applicable) may not necessarily be recommended for recruitment, as it depends on the vacancy position.
- Securing the qualifying marks does not guarantee recruitment.
